Who I am
My website address is: https://sarahsvignettes.wordpress.com and my name is Sarah Swan.
What personal data I collect and why I collect it
When visitors subscribe to my blog, I collect the data requested to enable me to send you an email notification of new posts. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
When visitors complete the contact form on my site I collect the data requested. This is only ever used by me for the purposes of getting back in touch with you and responding to your contact.
If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. You can disable cookies at any time in your browser settings.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, it will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, it will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who I share your data with
By default, WordPress does not share any personal data with anyone. I am not responsible for any data shared by the plug ins. I do not personally share any data with third parties unless expressly agreed with you (and this would usually be only if you are a competition winner).
Information is collected by Akismet Anti-Spam about visitors who comment on my site. The information collected typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referred and site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as name, username, email address and the comment itself).
I am not responsible for the republishing of the content found on this blog on other websites or media without my permission.
How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where I send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
